A functional sculptural object that merges plant life with everyday garments, reimagining domestic essentials through a design-led lens. The work balances humour, familiarity, and form — transforming ordinary objects into considered, collectible pieces. The Sock Planter draws from the language of the Nike Sportswear Everyday Essential Crew Socks, translating a recognisable wardrobe staple into a sculptural planter. Cast in white resin with a matte finish and finished with a hand-painted black logo, the piece retains the visual identity of the original while shifting its function. Each edition is presented as a set of two sock planters — one white and one black — designed to sit within interior spaces as both object and utility. Part of the “Art of Living” series, the work reflects a core VMU principle: elevating the everyday into culturally resonant artefacts.
