FA Cup: Cup Culture

For the 2025 FA Cup Final (Crystal Palace vs Manchester City), Nigel VMU created a community-driven installation centred around two six-foot sculptural replicas of the FA Cup trophy, each dedicated to one club. Supporters from both communities were invited to leave handwritten inscriptions across the surfaces, transforming the trophies into living archives of fan voices, memories, and match day emotion.

The completed trophies were then installed in the Wembley Stadium players’ tunnel, allowing both teams to read the messages before the final. Extending the project beyond match day, the studio also designed and delivered custom foosball tables for each club’s community, leaving a permanent object behind for fans to engage with locally and continue the spirit of the project
