Fanatics x Slawn x Nigel VMU — NFL Ball

A limited-edition sculptural object co-designed by Nigel VMU and Slawn, reimagining the traditional NFL ball through a distinct artistic lens.

Developed for Fanatics VVIP and produced in an edition of just 10 pieces, the work transforms the language of sport into a collectible artefact. The classic football form is overlaid with Slawn’s expressive, clown-inspired facial motifs — bold, confrontational, and instantly recognisable — wrapping the object in character and emotion.

Nigel VMU translates this graphic language into three-dimensional form, sculpting the surface so that expression becomes embedded rather than applied. The result is a hybrid object: part ball, part character, part sculpture.

Removed from gameplay, the ball shifts from function to symbol — a piece that captures the energy of sport, culture, and collaboration in a fixed state. Each work sits between object and artwork, designed not to be used, but to be held, collected, and experienced.

Executed as part of a wider collaboration with Fanatics, the piece reflects Nigel VMU’s approach to transforming familiar cultural objects into refined sculptural forms, preserving moments of contemporary culture as future artefacts.
